SHOULD SCHOOLS CENSOR ART?
A student at Allegheny College created a series of paintings, some with written expressions saying "Big Cat," "Alien Luv," and "Kill Cops." College employees who saw the “Kill Cops” phrase misconstrued it as a literal threat to law enforcement. They photographed it, cropping out the rest of the painting, and posted it on social media, where it drew outrage from members of the college community as well as local law enforcement. The student removed the work.

Who should be allowed to censor art in schools? What effect would this pose to artists trying to express themselves through their work? As educators what/if anything should we be censoring from our students regarding art?
